The City of lost Children is a wonderful little gem of a film by the same director of Amelie, it has everything, terrifying Santas, dictatorial floating brains, sinister conjoined twins, alcoholics, highly trained fleas, floating mines, it is often referred to as a 'Steampunk' film, it definitely has the aesthetic

If you like the book Geek Love by Katherine Dunn (quite possibly an all time favourite), there's a vibe to this film that reminds me of it, you won't be disappointed.
