World moon

I WISH I knew who illustrator was of the picture above! It is mesmerising and brilliant, a friend sent it to me and alas did not accompany the name with the forwarded image, and could not find the artist when they went searching. We WISH we knew who it was by!!! Brilliant!

10 for today

Some of the last images captured of Mercury, before the MESSENGER spacecraft crashed on its surface after 11 years of success on its missio

Mesmerising!

Below is Pyrite, also known as "fool's gold" in its natural form. The universe is filled with magnificence.

Coloured scans of brains are intriguing, all those different colours different aspects of who we self-identify as, what our memories are, basically everything that makes us, us.

The brilliant underwater sculpture museum in Mexico, more here

These butterflies are made entirely out of bits of electronics

I have irresponsibly lost the source of this Instagram account, I found this enchanting work via National Geographic

Robert Montgomery art above and below. Melancholy, wistful, eerie and beautiful. Decided it best not to run a whole post otherwise I would never shut up

A rare lenticular UFO shaped cloud, how marvellous!

The seal on the Magna Carta

Above and below the most beautiful work by Toshio Ebine, it takes me to another place, and that's where good art lives, with you in another world...

Alternate moon landing speech

That symbol of hope and pride, the space race was a welcome distraction (kinda) from Cold war politics. Even though the competition was fierce, it remained a symbol of hope, pride and modernity.

Here is a copy of the speech Nixon was to deliver if it had gone wrong, strange to think! Maybe Elon Musk and his space mates are writing one currently in the event the Mars trip goes wrong, who knows!

Just thinking/ essay procrastination

I was so relieved when I found a word for it as the concept of Sonder is one I get caught up in quite often

I always wonder how many other people are staring at the moon at the exact same time as me, and what they are going through. I am comforted by the thought that our moon was the same one Joan of Arc fought under, the same moon Oscar Wilde wrote under, the same moon that people on other sides of the world who have never seen each other consult for company or comfort.

Has anyone else experienced a level of non-caring that others have mistaken for brazen confidence? It sounds so strange when put in a sentence like that! Perhaps my homework is depressing me!

Here are some words I hope are of comfort to you

Birthday soon!

Since it's my birthday soon, I am doing a ridiculous whimsy-wish list!

A moon for the walls in my room, now that my once view of the night sky has been replaced by the neighbours' elevated house

A journal to fill is never put to waste with me! The Safavid style one by paperblanks is beautiful!

The works of Tesla, a very important man from our history, please do yourself a favour and acquaint yourself with his genius if unfamiliar with him, I would also recommend becoming a hardcore Alan Turing obsessive too, I am very happy the Imitation Game is doing such a great job spreading the history of one of the greatest minds ever

And taxidermy! The above piece was an Etsy I let slip away! It would have been well loved and treasured, it reminds me of Polly Morgan's work, where she turns taxidermy into sculptures

Anywho, most of all, a couple of ciders with the ones I love, and a picnic with my dogs at the park I live near would be the greatest! We must treasure our time with one another, and marvel at its wonder!
